- Yarn: Super Bulky, Weight 6; Example made with Bernat Baby Blanket (Grasshopper and Vanilla)
- Hook: N (9.00mm)
- Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape
Sizing
- Gauge: 7 Double Crochet and 4 Rows = 4”x4”
Pattern Key
- St/Sts: Stitch(es)
- Ch: Chain
- Sc: Single Crochet
- Dc: Double Crochet
Special Stitches
- Dc2tog (Double Crochet 2 Together) for Row 1: Yarn over, insert hook into next chain, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops (you now have 2 loops on your hook), yarn over and skip 3 chains, insert hook into next chain, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops (you now have 3 loops on your hook), yarn over and pull yarn through all 3 loops.
- Dc2tog (Double Crochet 2 Together) for Row 2: Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull yarn through 2 loops (you now have 2 loops on your hook), yarn over and skip the dc2tog below, insert hook into next dc, yarn over and pull through 2 loops (you now have 3 loops on your hook), yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.
Notes
- Chain 3 does count as a double crochet.
- This blanket is worked with two colors, working the main color for 4 rows and the complimentary color for two rows and then continuing.

Row 1: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 chs count as dc), 1 dc in the next 4 chs, dc2tog, 1 dc in next 4 chs, *(1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in next ch, 1 dc in next 4 chs, dc2tog, 1 dc in next 4 chs; repeat from*, until last ch, 2 dc in last ch. – 52 & 5 dc2tog
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts 1 dc) and turn, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in next 4 sts, dc2tog, 1 dc in next 4 sts, *(1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in ch 1 sp, 1 dc in next 4 sts, dc2tog, 1 dc in next 4 sts; repeat from until last dc, 2 dc in last dc. – 52 & 5 dc2tog
Repeat Row 2 until the blanket measures 35 inches long.
