Fishing Baby Crochet Pattern

Fishing Baby Crochet Pattern

What says summer more than going fishing?  So of course a Fishing Baby crochet pattern is needed but of course it is absolutely adorable!  We have the little fishing outfit that includes a hat, tushy cover and fishing boots.  Then a fishing baby set isn't complete without fish, fishing poll and bobber. Also, you can also add a fishing net blanket as well.  This set is so fun and can be customized in any way you like and don't forget to have fun while making this set.  This set for the most part uses simple crochet stitches with some increases and decreases.

Finish off, weave in any loose ends and leave a long tail to close the top.

If you are attaching the bobber to the fishing pole, use your tapestry needle and the “fishing line” yarn and pull the yarn through the opening of the bobber and then out the magic ring.  Use the long red tail of the bobber and sew the opening closed.  Tie the “fishing line” end of the opening of the bobber to a small dowel rod (aka fishing rod)

Fish: (4” long stuffed) Make as many as you want!!

You Need Your H Hook, Fish Yarn Colors of Choice, Black Yarn and Stuffing.

Make a Magic Ring.

Eyes: Using a tapestry needle and black yarn, working in between rounds 4 and 5 about 3 stitches long (repeat for a total of 3 times, each eye will have 3 strands).  Then repeat on the other side.

Round 9: 1 sc in next 3 sts, *sc2tog, 1 sc in next 3 sts, repeat from*, do NOT join.  – 15

Round 10: *1 sc in next st, sc2tog, repeat from*, do NOT join.  – 10

STOP!!! It is time to stuff the fish!

Round 11: sc2tog 5 times, do NOT join.  – 5

Round 12: 2 sc in next st and each st around, do NOT join.  – 10

Round 13: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st, repeat from*, do NOT join.  – 15

Round 14-16: 1 sc in next st and each st around, do NOT join.  – 15

Join with a sl st and finish off leaving a long tail. If you are making a fish for the fishing pole, read attachment instructions before, sewing round 16 closed.  Using the long tail and your tapestry needle, sew round 16 closed.

Attaching fish to fishing pole: After you have already added your bobber, it is time to attach the fish.  You want the magic ring of the bobber and the magic ring of the fish to be facing each other.  Insert the tapestry needle with the “fishing line” yarn through the magic ring of the fish and pull it out the other side (the tail of the fish), if you would like you can weave the “fishing line” yarn through the stuffing a few times to help secure it in place.  Then finish off and go back to sewing up round 16 of the fish.

Fish Garland: After you have made all your fish (I made 5 for my fish garland), grab your “fishing line” yarn and your tapestry needle, and strand the “fishing line” through the fish in between rounds 2 and 3.  After you have stranded all of the fish, leave a long tail on each side of the “fishing line” to hang up the garland.  I tied a couple knots on each side of the garland just in case the fish tried to slide off.
