- Yarn: Medium, Weight 4; Brown and White. Sample made with Vanna’s Choice (Chocolate & White)
- Hook: K (6.50mm)
- Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape

- Gauge: 12 Stitches and 10 Rows = 4”x4” (hdc)
- These measurements are approximated, measure head to get accurate sizing needed.

Starting with Brown Yarn, Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in loop, join with a sl st in the 1st sc, pull tight. - 7
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 14

Repeat Round 6 until the beanie measures 3 ¾ inches tall for newborn or 4 ½ inches tall for 1-3 months, change to white for one round and then change back to brown until the beanie measures 5 inches tall for newborn or 5.5 inches tall for 1-3 months. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
3-6 Months: (Circumference 15-16” and Height 6”)
Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 7 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 8 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 39
Round 7: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st and each st around, join. - 39
Repeat Round 7 until the beanie measures 4 ¾ inches tall, change to white for one round and then change back to brown until the beanie measures 6 inches tall.

Football Stripes/Stitches
You Need Your Tapestry Needle and White Yarn.
You will first want to make the vertical stripe (2 strands), leave about 1 – 2 brown rows above and below the stripe. Then add 3 horizontal stripes across the vertical stripe (two strands of yarn for each stripe). Fasten off and weave in all the loose ends.
