- Gauge: 8 Stitches and 8 Rows = 4”x4” (hdc)
- These measurements are approximated, measure head to get accurate sizing needed.

Buttons
Sew 1 inch buttons onto the center of the earflaps, for all helmets.

Foundation Double Crochet until the length listed for the size is reached:
Newborn: 9 inches long
1-3 Months: 10 inches long
3-6 Months: 11 inches long
6-12 Month: 12 inches long
1-2 Years: 13 inches long
3-10 Years: 14 inches long
Fasten off and sew onto the helmet, starting in the front of the beanie to the back, sewing in a straight line.
Chin Strap

Foundation Double Crochet until the length listed for the size is reached:

0-3 Months: 5 inches long
3-6 Months: 5.5 inches long
6-12 Month: 6.0 inches long
1-2 Years: 6.5 inches long
3-10 Years: 7.0 inches long
Do not fasten off, continue to add chin loops.
Adding Chin Strap Loops:
Chain 6, join with a slip stitch on the other side of the double crochet foundation to make a loop. Then single crochet along the side of the strap until you reach the other side. Chain 6, join with a slip stitch on the other side of the double crochet foundation to make a loop. Single crochet along the other side of strap to the first chain 6. Fasten off.
Note: You will not sew the chin strap onto the helmet, but the loops will be used around the buttons.
