Materials
- Yarn: Medium, Weight 4; Green, Black, White and Yellow. Sample is made with Vanna’s Choice (Kelly Green, Black, White and Ducky)
- Hook: K (6.50mm)
- Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape
Sizing
- Gauge: 12 Stitches and 10 Rows = 4”x4” (hdc)
- These measurements are approximated, measure head to get accurate sizing needed.
Pattern Key
- St/Sts: Stitch(es)
- Sl St: Slip Stitch

Special Stitches:
- Sc2tog (Single Crochet Two Together): Insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.
- Tr (Treble Crochet): Yarn over twice, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, *yarn over and pull through next two loops; repeat from*, 3 times.
Notes
- Chain 1 will NOT count as a stitch.
- Joining: When ending the rounds, you will join with a slip stitch into the 1st stitch (not the chain 1).
0-3 Months Beanie: (Circumference 13-14” and Height 5 - 5.5”)

Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in loop, join with a sl st in the 1st sc, pull tight. - 7
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 14
Round 3: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 21
Round 4: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 28
Round 5: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 35
Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st and each st around, join. - 35
Repeat Round 6 until the beanie measures 5 inches tall for newborn or 5.5 inches tall for 1-3 months. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Frog Inner Eyes (Make 2)
You Need Your K Hook and Black, White & Green Yarn
Start with Black Yarn, Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 5 sc into loop, join with a sl st into the 1st sc, pull tight. - 5
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 2 sc in each stitch around, join with white. - 10
Round 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st, *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from*, end with 1 sc in same st as ch 1, join in ch 1. - 15
Round 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st and each st around, join with green. - 15
Round 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st and each st around, join in ch 1. - 15
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Frog Outer Eyes (Make 2)
You Need Your K Hook and Green Yarn
Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc into loop, join with a sl st into the 1st sc, pull tight. - 6
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 2 sc in each stitch around, join in ch 1. - 12
Round 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st, *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from*, end with 1 sc in same st as ch 1, join in ch 1. - 18
Round 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st and each st around, join in ch 1. - 18
Round 5: Sl st into next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog, 1 sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog, 1 sc in next 3 sts, sl st in next 3 sts. - 16
Do NOT fasten off, it’s time to join the inner and outer ears, by placing the two wrong sides together.
Round 6: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st and each st around, join in ch 1. - 16
Round 7: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st and each st around, join in ch 1. - 16
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends, leaving a long tail to sew the eyes onto the beanie. Sew the eyes onto rounds 3 and 4 of the beanie.
Tushy Cover: (6 ½ inch diameter)
You Need Your K Hook and Green Yarn.

You Need Your K Hook, Yellow and White Yarn
Start with Yellow Yarn, Make a Magic Ring (leave a long tail)
Round 1: Ch 1, 5 sc in loop, join with a sl st in the 1st sc, pull tight, join. - 5
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 2 sc in each st around, end with 1 sc in same st as ch 1, join with white. - 10
Round 3: (Ch 2, 1 dc, 2 tr, 1 dc, ch 2) in the same st, sl st in next st, *ch 2, (1 dc, 2 tr, 1 dc, ch 2) in next st, sl st in next st; repeat from*, until you have 5 petals.
Fasten off and weave in loose ends, then sew the lily pad flower onto the tushy cover.
