The Gruene Beanie is a gorgeous textured beanie that is bulky and warm but not super heavy. The color I choose for first Gruene Beanie that I made is a shade of green, it is the Avocado shade in the Color Made Easy Yarn by Lion Brand. With one skein of this yarn, you can make two Gruene Beanies. This yarn has a good amount of stretch in it, so you will get a nice fitting beanie without it being too stretching or super tight but still have the chunky beanie. Gruene, Texas is a beautiful historic town in the district of New Braunfels which is about a 40 minute drive from me. This place is a quaint little town full of small shops, delicious food and gorgeous water fronts. During the warm months you can go tubing down the Guadalupe river. I enjoy visiting small towns on cool days where you can enjoy being bundled up (without being too cold or overheat) and enjoy finding unique finds at antique shops, listening to music around the town and enjoying a bite to eat on the water.

When my husband and I first started dating, we would go to this small town and visit their little shops, one of them was a music shop that had CD's you could only find there. I remember walking around on chilly days and I wished I had a squishy warm beanie to wear. Now I will be prepared with a gorgeous and quick to make beanie like the Gruene Beanie.
As part of the new Made with a Twist 1 hour beanie blog hop, me and 9 other designers are offering these 10 crochet patterns as part of a pattern bundle. You can grab all 10 of these crochet patterns for $10 through my link here.
