Materials

  • Yarn: Medium, Weight 4; Example made with I Love This Cotton (Aqua)
  • Yardage: 360 yards
  • Hook: K (6.50mm)
  • Tapestry Needle, Scissors, Measuring Tape and Stitch Marker
  • Bamboo Curl Handles

Sizing

  • Gauge: 13 Stitches and 7 Rows = 4”x4” (dc)

Notes

  • Joining: Join in the 1st stitch, not the chain one.
  • Chain one will not count a stitch.

Honeycomb Beach Bag: (17 Inches Wide and 27 Inches Tall)

You Need Your K Hook and Your Color Choice of Yarn

Round 1: Double Crochet Foundation 50, Ch 1 (you are now going to work the other side of the dc foundation), 1 dc in each st across, join with a sl st into the first dc foundation to make a round. - 100

Round 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st and each st around, join. – 100

Round 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next sc, *ch 5, skip 2 sc sts, 1 sc in next 3 sc sts; repeat from*, until the last 3 sc sts, ch 5, skip 2 sc sts, 1 sc in the last sc st and 1 sc in same st as ch 1, join. - 61

Round 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, skip next sc st, *5 sc in next ch 5 arch, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in next sc, skip 1 sc; repeat from*, until last ch 5 arch, 5 sc in ch 5 arch, skip 1 sc st, 1 sc in last sc st, join. - 121

Round 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, ch 2, skip 2 sc sts, 1 sc in next 3 sc sts, *ch 5, skip 3 sc sts, 1 sc in next 3 sc sts; repeat from*, until last st, ch 2, skip last sc st, 1 sc in same st as ch 1, join. - 62

Rounds 8-42: Repeat Rounds 4-7, you will end on Round 6.

You will now be making the spaces to add the handles.

Round 48: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next 13 sc sts, ch 2, skip 2 sc sts, 1 sc in next 28 sc sts, ch 2, skip 2 sc sts, 1 sc in next 28 sc sts, ch 2, skip 2 sc sts, 1 sc in next 28 sc sts, ch 2, skip 2 sc sts, 1 sc in last 15 sc sts, join. - 113

Round 49: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next 13 sc sts, 2 sc in next ch 2 arch, 1 sc in next 28 sc sts, 2 sc in next ch 2 arch, 1 sc in next 28 sc sts, 2 sc in next ch 2 arch, 1 sc in next 28 sts, 2 sc in next ch 2 arch, 1 sc in last 15 sc sts, join. - 121

Rounds 50 – 54: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next sc st and each sc st around, join. - 121

Round 55: Ch 1, 1 sl st in same st, 1 sl st in each sc st around, join. - 121

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends and add handles in spaces.
