How To: Crochet Thicket Crochet Stitch

The thicket crochet stitch is one of the most beautiful crochet stitches that I have worked up!  I love how combining basic crochet stitches, can create such a beautiful texture! I know know basic crochet like how to chain, single crochet and double crochet, then you can work up this AMAZING stitch! I have not had a chance to design a crochet pattern yet with this stitch but it is on my list now!!   What would you make with the thicket crochet stitch?

One of my most favorite things about crochet, well I have a lot of favorite things that I love about crochet, but I am obsessed with crochet texture, the amazing ability to combine basic crochet stitches to create this gorgeous texture. Materials
  • Yarn: The stitch sample is made with Leither Co. April Showers (Sport Weight)
  • Hook Size: Leither Co. E - 3.5mm
  • Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape

Pattern Key

  • St/Sts: Stitch(es)
  • Ch: Chain
  • Sc: Single Crochet
  • Hdc: Half Double Crochet
  • Dc: Double Crochet
Notes:
  • Chain 1 will NOT count as a stitch
Foundation
  • Chain in Multiples of 2
Pattern  Row 1: (1 sc, 1 dc) in 2nd ch from hook, *skip next ch, (1 sc, 1 dc) in next ch; repeat from*, across until the last 2 chs, skip 1 ch, 1 sc in last ch. Row 2: Ch 1 and turn, (1 sc, 1 dc) in same st, *skip next st, (1 sc, 1 dc) in next st; repeat from*, across until the last 2 sts, skip 1 st, 1 sc in last st. Repeat Row 2 until desired length is reached.
