- Yarn: Medium, Weight 4; Red, Black and White. Sample made with Vanna’s Choice (Scarlet, Black and White)

- Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape

Eyes (Make 2)
You Need Your K Hook, White Yarn and 2 Buttons
Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in loop, join with a sl st in the 1st sc, pull tight. - 7
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 14
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends, leaving a long tail to sew onto face, but sew the button eyes on first.
Mouth
You Need Your Tapestry Needle and White Yarn
Make a smile with the tapestry needle, first make the bottom loop and then smaller strands across the mouth to keep the smile in place.
Antennas (Make 2)
You Need Your K Hook and Black Yarn
To make the antennas you will “Surface Crochet” onto the beanie with a slip stitch.
The “Surface Crochet” is going to produce the same look as a sewn chain stitch.
First Make a Slip knot, remove the hook from the yarn and put the slip knot inside the beanie where you want to make the antenna. Insert the hook from the outside of the beanie where you want the antenna to start and pull up the slip knot and make a slip stitch, continue to make slip stitch along the beanie to make the antenna curve how you would like. You will make about 9 slip stitches. Fasten off and repeat on the other side.
Spots (Make 2-5)
