Mermaid Fade Shawl Crochet Along

The Mermaid Fade Shawl crochet pattern idea all started with the idea of yarn. I was chatting with Lorri of Arkansas Yarn Co about designing about a pattern with a fade away as it is a gorgeous way to work a project and see two colors that coordinate and of course fade into each other. Once the color fades into the next color and into the next color, you just have to keep going to see what the final color scheme will look like. Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.

The color scheme that I chose was a beautiful mermaid color scheme and texture goes very well with a Mermaid as well, Lorri of Arkansas Yarn Co did an amazing job dyeing up this amazing color way!!

Who doesn’t want to be a Mermaid? It is the perfect season to wear a lightweight shawl and when you wear a shawl that fades from one color to another, it gives it a little extra! I loved making the Mermaid Fade Shawl and it has been so hard keeping it a secret, so since I don't have to keep it a secret anymore, I thought it would be fun to host a crochet a long in the month of May. Grab your yarn, hook and get ready to get hooked on the Mermaid Fade Shawl!

Materials

Yarn: Fingering Weight; Arkansas Yarn Co, Mermaid Fade, 5 balls, 1,095 yds total.
Hook: H (5.00mm)
Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape

Sizing

Gauge: 12 Sc and 19 Rows = 4”
Finish Size 70" Wide and 16" Length
