Morgan Beanie Crochet Pattern

The Morgan Beanie is a beautiful textured beanie for all ages to wear!! You will be hooked on making this beanie for everyone!! Two things that I really love about this beanie, is that it can be made in any color and this beautiful texture is created by using simple crochet stitches.  This beanie is great if you are a beginner crocheter and looking to expand your crochet skills or if you are an experienced crocheter, you can work this up super quick.  This pattern include sizes for everyone from newborn - large adult.

Materials

  • Yarn: Medium, Weight 4; Your Color Choice.
  • Sample is made with Vanna’s Choice (Sweet Pea)
  • Hook: K (6.50mm)
  • Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape

Sizing

  • Gauge: 12 Stitches and 10 Rows = 4”x4” (hdc)
  • These measurements are approximated, measure head to get accurate sizing needed.

Pattern Key

  • St/Sts: Stitch(es)
  • Sl St: Slip Stitch
  • Ch: Chain
  • Sc: Single Crochet
  • Hdc: Half Double Crochet
  • Dc: Double Crochet

Notes

  • Chain 1 will NOT count as a stitch.
  • Joining: When ending the rounds, you will join with a slip stitch into the 1st stitch (not the chain 1).



Morgan Beanie

ALL SIZES: (0-3M, 3-6M, 6-12M, 1-2Y, 3-10Y, Teen, Adult and Large Adult)

You Need Your K Hook and Your Color Choice of Yarn.

Make a Magic Ring,

Round 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in loop, join with a sl st in the 1st sc, pull tight. - 7

Round 2: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 14

Round 3: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 21

Round 4: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 28

Round 5: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 35

CONTINUE TO THE SECTION OF THE SIZE YOU ARE MAKING

0-6 Months: (Circumference 13-15” and Height 5 - 6”)

Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st and each st around, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 36

Round 7: Ch 1, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in same st, skip next 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip next 2 sts; repeat from*, join - 36

Repeat Round 7 until the beanie measures 5 inches tall for newborn, 5.5 inches tall for 1-3 months or 6 inches tall for 3-6 months. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.



6-12 Months: (Circumference 16-18” and Height 6.5”)

Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 42

Round 7: Ch 1, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in same st, skip next 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip next 2 sts; repeat from*, join - 42

Repeat Round 7 until the beanie measures 6.5 inches tall.

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

1-10 Years: (Circumference 19-20” and Height 7 - 7.5”)

Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 42

Round 7: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in the next 5 sts, *2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in next 5 sts; repeat from*, join. - 48

Round 8: Ch 1, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in same st, skip next 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip next 2 sts; repeat from*, join - 48

Repeat Round 8 until the beanie measures 7 inches tall for 1-2 years or 7.5 inches tall for 3-10 years. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Teen, Adult and Large Adult: (Circumference 22-23” and Height 7.5” Teen, 8” Adult and 8.5” Large Adult) 

Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 42

Round 7: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in the next 5 sts, *2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in next 5 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 49

Round 8: Ch 1, 1 dc in same st, skip 1 st, 2 dc in next 2 sts, *skip 2 sts, 2 dc in next 2 sts; repeat from*, until last 2 sts, skip 2 sts, end with 1 dc in same st as ch 1, join. - 54

Round 9: Ch 1, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in same st, skip next 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip next 2 sts; repeat from*, join - 54

Repeat Round 9 until the beanie measures 7.5 inches tall for teen, 8 inches tall for adult or 8.5 inches tall for large adult.  Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
