You now have a front, back and two sleeves, when working Row 13, you will skip over the chain 4 made for the sleeves. You will not work in the sleeves section until you are finished with the cardigan and reach the sleeves section below.
Row 13: Ch 1 (does not count as st) and turn, 1 dc in same st, *3 dc in next ch 2 sp, repeat from*, ending with 1 dc in last hdc. - 59 (68, 71, 74) dc
Row 14: Ch 1 (does not count as st) and turn, 1 hdc in same st, skip next st, (1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) in next st, *skip 2 sts, (1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) in next; repeat from*, until last 2 sts, skip 1 st, 1 hdc in last st. - 2 hdc (for all) & 38 (44, 46, 48) sc
Repeat Rows 13 & 14 until the cardigan measures 13 (14, 15 ¼, 16) inches long, ending with Row 14. Fasten off and then move to sleeves.
Sleeves (Short and Long): 1-2y (3-4y, 5-6y, 7-8y)
Repeat on BOTH sides!
Note: Begin the round in the 1st stitch to the left of the chain 4 space.
Round 1: Join, (1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) in joining st, *skip 2 sts, (1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) in next; repeat from*, 5 (5, 6, 7) times, working over the ch 4 sp and into the stitch below, (1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) twice, join in ch 2 sp. - 16 (16, 18, 20)
Round 2: Ch 1 (does not count as st), 3 dc in same sp, *3 dc in next ch 2 sp; repeat from, join in 2nd dc. - 24 (24, 27, 30)

For Short Sleeves - Rounds 4 & 5: Repeat Rounds 2 & 3 (All Sizes)
For Long Sleeves - Repeat Rounds 2 & 3 until the sleeves measures 8 ½ (10 ½, 12, 14) inches long, ending with Round 3. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Button: 1-2y (3-4y, 5-6y, 7-8y)
Sew Button onto left chest side onto Row 2 and 3.
The space between the stitches will be large enough to create a button hole to work over the button.
