Materials
- Yarn: Medium, Weight 4; Green and Brown. Sample is made with Vanna’s Choice (Dusty Green and Chocolate)
- Hook: H (5.00mm) & K (6.50mm)
- Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape
Sizing
- Gauge: 12 Stitches and 10 Rows = 4”x4” (hdc with K hook)
- These measurements are approximated, measure head to get accurate sizing needed.
Pattern Key
- St/Sts: Stitch(es)
- Sl St: Slip Stitch
- Ch: Chain
- Sc: Single Crochet
- Hdc: Half Double Crochet
- Dc: Double Crochet
Notes
- Chain 1 will NOT count as a stitch.
- Joining: When ending the rounds, you will join with a slip stitch into the 1st stitch (not the chain 1).
0-3 Months Beanie: (Circumference 13-14” and Height 5 - 5.5”)
You Need Your K Hook, Green and Brown Yarn.
Start with Green Yarn, Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in loop, join with a sl st in the 1st sc, pull tight. - 7
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 14
Round 3: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 21
Round 4: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 28
Round 5: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. - 35
Round 6: Ch 1, 1 dc in same st, *1 sc in next st, 1 dc in next st; repeat from*, join. - 35
Repeat Round 6 until the beanie measures 5 inches tall for newborn or 5.5 inches tall for 1-3 months, ending the last round with brown. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

You Need Your H Hook, Green and Brown Yarn
Start with Green Yarn, Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 5 sc into loop, join with a sl st into the 1st sc, pull tight. - 6
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st, end with 1 dc in same st as ch 1, join. - 12
Round 3: Ch 1, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st, end with 1 dc in same st as ch 1, join. - 24
Round 4: Ch 1, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st, end with 1 dc in same st as ch 1, join. - 48
Change to Brown Yarn
Round 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st and each st around, join. - 48
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Cape Cover Assembly (10 ½ inches in diameter)
You Need Your Tapestry Needle and Brown Yarn
Place 1 circle in the middle and lay the other 6 evenly around the center circle.
Sew each piece to the middle circle and sew together between each piece.
Try to sew small tight stitches. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
